Learning for the real world

At Sir Simon Milton Westminster UTC, your time will be split between studying academic subjects and studying your specialist technical area.

From 14-16, you’ll spend 60% of your time on your GCSEs. The rest of your time is dedicated to practical activities, like designing and building products and solving real-world problems.

From 16-18, you’ll spend 60% of your time on your technical studies – including work placements and job-related courses. The remaining 40% will be spent on your A level subjects, which will be relevant to your technical area.

This way, whether you leave Sir Simon Milton Westminster UTC at 16 or 18, you’ll have the knowledge and skills you need to take the next step – whether that’s in the world of work, as an apprentice or at university.
