Focused on the future, over 82% of our Year 13 students have applied through UCAS for a place at University. This is a very high proportion of the cohort, and compares very favourably with other London Sixth Forms. Students were able to add many interesting work related activities and experiences to their Personal Statements, due to the UTC Project- based education they have received with us. Outstanding examples from the University applications included:
All 22 of the Engineering students who participated in Network Rail’s ‘Fast Trackers scheme achieved the Gold ‘Industrial Cadet Award’ of the Engineering Development Trust;
A group of students achieved runner- up status in TFLs ‘Innovate’ UK- wide competition in (2018) with another group finishing in the top 10 in January 2019; A project group won an Enterprise contest run by the University of Westminster; Students developing their independent investigative skills through the Extended Project Qualification; student performance on this course is set to be outstanding with all pupils expected to achieve a grade C or better; Physics students attending a residential educational visit to CERN in Switzerland.
Students should aim to be focused on the future in all their activities undertaken at the UTC.
