Activity: Environmental Hackathon

Posted by Dennis G. Lucan on December 9, 2019

Environmental Hackathon and Careers speed networking

On Thursday 28th November, our students participated in an environmental hackathon and received an introduction to the issue of air pollution and how transport vehicles contribute to the decline of air quality. They took part in a competition in which they created a solution to help combat the problem of rising air pollution. A careers speed networking session gave them the chance to speak with various professionals about the world of work and gain insights from the industry.

The activity took place at our UTC in Victoria and was coordinated by the Head of Key Stage 5, Melissa Leveridge.

Aims of the Environmental Hackathon

  • To make students aware of the growing problem of air pollution.
  • To highlight the importance of getting involved in solving environmental issues.
  • To give the students the opportunity to speak to working professionals from various industries.
